Customer monitoring

Add 12 months of monitoring to your risk report

A risk report is a photograph of your customer today. A company's position can change within months. Customer Monitoring is a 12-month option on the Company Risk Report: we follow the companies you sell to and warn you in time when the risk rises. It is never sold on its own, only together with a risk report.

Report and monitoring

A report shows today; monitoring shows what changes

The independent risk report you obtain on your European customer sets out its financial position, score and payment behaviour on that day. When you decide whether to ship, it is the most concrete document you have.

But in export, a relationship rarely ends with one shipment. Six months later you load for the same customer again and the open balance grows. In the meantime the customer's score may have dropped, its ownership may have changed or a restructuring filing may have been registered against it. Customer monitoring follows the changes to the picture the report gave you, on your behalf.

What we watch

The developments that affect payment risk at the customers you ship to on open account.

Score and limit

A clear drop in the risk score or the limit in the report.

Insolvency filings

Insolvency, restructuring or comparable proceedings.

Company changes

Changes of name, address, directors or ownership.

Financial statements

Newly filed accounts and any marked deterioration in them.

Trust is good; control is better. Everyone is careful with a new customer. The real blind spot is the customer you have worked with for years: nobody asks questions there any more, and nobody checks. Yet that is where your open balance builds up, and a deterioration usually only shows when a payment fails to arrive. Monitoring keeps that customer in view for a full year — you hear about it the moment the score drops, not after the goods have already gone.

When is it used?

Customer monitoring comes into its own in situations like these.

Selling on open account

Exporters who sell to Europe on open account, on deferred payment terms, collecting payment after the goods have gone.

A growing open balance

Companies whose open balance with a single customer grows over the year.

Seasonal peaks

Sectors where order volumes rise at the start of the season, such as textiles, food, furniture, machinery and automotive parts.

Many customers, one list

Export and finance teams with several customers in the same country who want to see them all on one list.

How it works

Screened daily, and you hear from us when something changes

It starts with a risk report

Every customer you want monitored begins with a company risk report. That report is the baseline.

We build your list

We add the customers you want to follow to your watchlist.

A message when something changes

We screen your customers every day. When something changes that affects their ability to pay, we let you know by e-mail, in your own language. If nothing has changed, we will not trouble you with routine reports.

Alert on a red flag

If a serious risk signal appears, we e-mail you straight away rather than at the end of the month.

Getting started

Let's build your watchlist together

We go through which customers are worth monitoring. Each one starts with a company risk report; after that we set up the list and keep it under review.

What monitoring does, and what it does not do

What it does

Monitoring e-mails you the changes in the data behind the independent report, explained in your own language, so you do not lose time deciphering a record in a foreign language.

What it does not do

Monitoring does not decide whether you ship, what payment terms you give or whether you change your limit. We show the data and the change; the commercial decision is entirely yours. Nor is monitoring a guarantee of payment or a form of insurance: it follows what the customer's records show.

Frequently asked questions

How long does customer monitoring run?

Monitoring runs for 12 months. Throughout that period the customers on your list are screened every day.

Do I need a risk report first?

Yes. Monitoring starts from an independent company risk report showing where the customer stands today. To measure change, you first need a baseline.

Will I receive reports if nothing changes?

No. As long as nothing happens that affects the customer's ability to pay, we will not fill your inbox with routine reports. You hear from us when something changes.

How and in which language do the messages arrive?

By e-mail, in your own language: Turkish or English. Even when the underlying record is in another European language, the message and the explanation you receive are not.

How many customers can I have monitored?

We build your list together, and you decide which customers go on it. It works for a single customer as well as for a group of customers across several countries.

Does monitoring remove the risk of non-payment?

No. Monitoring tells you promptly about changes in the customer's records. What you do with that information, whether to ship, what terms to give and how much to leave outstanding, remains your decision.

What happens if my customer does not pay?

For unpaid trade invoices in Europe we also provide debt collection coordination; every case receives a preliminary assessment, whatever the amount.

Keep your customer under review for 12 months

It starts with a Company Risk Report and continues with 12 months of Customer Monitoring: you hear when status, payment behaviour, limit or score changes.
